Horror of War

I finally got to watch the movie Fury and found it horrifyingly awesome. I love war movies in general but have never seen one about tanks. War is hell is a common phrase and man does it ring true. I couldn’t imagine going through what GIs faced during WWII. Or any war, for that matter. I channeled my inner Lemmy (Motorhead) and wrote this song while watching the movie.

Livin’ in the metal, rumbling over ground

Can’t hear a damn thing, that don’t matter

We blow up every fucking town.

Furys’ our name, others got one too

We used to be human, but this goddamn war

Strips every ounce from you.

Rollin’ through the country, better watch that treeline

Tigers, Panzers, hide in bushes

It’s a deadly firing line.

Doin’ God’s work!

We fight for what’s right!

Rollin’ dice both day & night,

We’ve come to destroy the Third Reich!

Fear becomes your best friend, Like your father talking to you

It ain’t what you been taught

But it’s what you gotta do.

Close your hatch, it’s a battle, fire those big guns

Friends will die, you’ll be scarred

Keep killing till we’ve won.

We’re doin’ God’s Work!

We fight for what’s right!

Rollin’ dice both day & night,

We’ve come to destroy the Third Reich!
